No-age Voodoo and no-limit Cosplay

That Non-Player Character appears in the Scenario Suzon's Rapt but can also be taken as a model for a type of Mambo, to be encountered on Hattea for instance, and can be slightly adapted for that if required.

The Witch of the Swamp is a horrible stunted old woman who, upon that, is blind (but she can see through the eyes in her skull's eye sockets…). She loves to dress in the strangest costumes: one day in that of a young maid, on the same evening in synthetic leather with roughly overstitched seams, à la Cat Woman (Please, don't ask…) and on the day after, why not?! she'll be a petite puppey with cheeks as pink as her dress… The number of costumes that she seems to have in such a small cabin is absolutely incredible!

She can also, from time to time, be seen as a Witch (Strange, isn't it?) in rags, especially when she goes out of her cabin, for instance on her way to fish in the Swamp or when she is searching for some herbs and medicinal plants. Much stanger, some report to have seen, to be honest in the dim light of the moon and probably with a generous pot of rum at their lips, a sublime young lady, slender and quite lightly clothed, bathing in a pond of clear water close to the old lady's cabin; do you believe in Mermaids? (Game Master, by reading the Character Sheet of the Witch of the Swamp, you'll get the clue to all that.)

Everybody on the island will tell it to you: she's always been there, as far as they know. She is certainly very old but, on another side, nobody's got much curiosity about her. For sure, some go to see her - in the not so secret secrecy of the night – to pray her fulfilling some unspeakable demands or even worse but, for most of the inhabitants, the most important is to avoid wandering to close to her hut, which, actually, is not difficult at all for they are not many, those who have a purpose in the vicinity and even less are these, who would have to cross the Swamp to go into the Furnace of the Octopus!

However, it is very likely that our Young Pirates will have to…

The Witch of the Swamp has definitely some Voodoo Divination capacities but the service is not granted for free, for it requires the Mounting of powerful Lwa and a thorough preparation, hence a lot of time and adequate decoctions. It is very unlikely that Young Pirates, not even really entered in the business, have the means to pay for such services but it is - theoretically - possible to ask her to « see » scenes of a forgotten past for the person making the request, even of his or her future…

Good to know as well, the Witch of the Swamp, among many another receipe, possesses one for preparing Rooroot Grog: the absolute weapon against the Ghosts who have lost their way! To be used only in very small quantities and never let in the hands of children over 77! Store in a dark and dry place, in a container which can hold the product (if such a container exists)… Such a receipe requires some components which can be quite uncommon, such as kerosene, moon-fish bones and catfish whiskers, malted hops, rusted nails and many others in very precise proportions (without forgetting, of course, the famous Rooroot). It is, it goes without saying, a very expensive product but it is of dreadful effectiveness.

And so could the list go on for a good while without exhausting the Skills of the Witch nor the ressources of the Witch's Cabin, A True (Voodoo) Ali-Baba's Cave™ despite its desperate and miserable look! (Some more details are given directly in the Scenario Suzon's Rapt.)
