Up to you to decide whether you would dare start with the topic in front of him: he could well defy you to a Pirates' Duel and overwhelm you with a flow of insults of which you wouldn't even have had an idea before! Well that's because he's been, for the greater part actually, educated by the Governor of the Island of the Yellow Lizard (or any other suiting your needs), a former Pirate, as we well know now or at least would easily guess, and he learnt from him an amount of notions, sometimes rather not easy, ranging from Duels of Insults to Balistics to quote only those two
Complex character and personality, Ernesto-Ribeiro, more simply called Ernesto, is a boastful, yet fearful, Pirate, surely an intellectual, but even more a fib-telling fawner, somewhat kleptomaniac, who sometimes frankly put the legs in the plate! But he knows no challenger for insults, well at least for a Parrot, and he is, to his friends, an excellent buddy and an excellent Witness or Jury in case of a Duel; moreover, he took Poerava, let's say, under his wing and takes care of her at least as much as a father would do
He almost never leaves her alone anymore! She is not his master at all, does not wish it and does not need it either but that's what could be said when seeing them for the first time. One should however avoid the topic with Ernesto, even suggestively, except one is trying to go into a fight with him
He is on that point, as well as on some other ones, extremely irritable!
Well in short: would you make him a travel companion?
