Better-Off Ridiculed Than Hanged… Well it is to be guessed that no same Pirate would have another opinion!

That Section contains only, if the Player chooses or develops some, Specialities. Those Specialities are of the type « Knock water back and Fall Drunk », « Coal Nut », « Slapstick Humour », etc. They work essentially just the same as the Specialities of the other Skill sections, which the only (big) difference that acquiring any Level in a Speciality in the section Better-Off Ridiculed Than Hanged costs… nothing!

One will however probably prefer to not select too much of those from the beginning because these « Skills » are acquired easily enough in the following course of events, notably at the occasion of enormous Critical Failures to actions to which they will then be in closer relationship.

The Levels acquired in that Section are also part of the Fame computation in which each of them counts as three points (for the better as well as the worse)! For more details on Fame, read the following paragraph and the chapter regarding Experience and Fame further in those rules.
